ok, so I really want to use these stones, they are so pretty and huge and shiny and all sorts of good stuff! BUT I want your opinion! What would you like to see them as? Rings, necklaces? what? keep in mind these are both pretty big, so they would be mega huge rings (not a bad thing, just wanted you to keep it in mind!). SO please! comment below with your opinion! I want to hear it!
Just bought this really amazing mug from PotteryVerve on etsy! Isn’t it fabulous!? I really should stop buying stuff for myself since summer is coming and that means less sales, and I’ve had so many expenses lately (considering my laptop died at the same time I was redoing my website… thanks for that, laptop!). But, I couldn’t help but acquire this cute mug for myself, because, really, I can totally see myself enjoying this awesome mug everyday! hooray! Go check out this shop, it is awesome (and Canadian!).
One piece of advice regarding having my own business that has made the most sense to me and that I’ve really taken to heart is to: keep up to date in your field. I feel like this is especially true when you are in the design field. It’s always good to keep up with new trends and to keep up a constant dialogue with the art world. No artist, or designer can be on their own island, our work is a constant reflection of the culture that we live in. To deny this, is to deny the very essence of our humanity.
With this in mind, I have amassed a plethora of design, art, fashion and news blogs on my google reader that I try with all earnestness to read through every day. When I see an image that I find particularly interesting I “pin it” onto a visual bookmarking site called pinterest (click on the link to follow my boards and inspiration on pinterest).
Over the last months I see so many images a day, I’ve become seriously picky on what I pin. If I pinned everything that was even slightly nice, it would be completely pointless, since most of the images on these blogs are stunning. So, I only pin an image when it stops me in my tracks. Here’s where I get to this painting. This painting has absolutely stopped me in my tracks, in a way that hasn’t happened in a LONG time. Hera by Tom Bagshaw is haunting and beautiful. The subject seems to pierce you with her sad gaze. I love it! How does it make you feel?

Here in Montreal, our Thanksgiving has been long past, a whole month. Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 25th 2010) is something that I was unfamiliar with until last year, when I was living in Portland Oregon. In the US, Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season. It is traditionally when shops have great sales to entice holiday shoppers.
It can also be a huge headache to go to the mall that day! SO I am joining the fun and offering a great one day only black Friday sale, and guess what?
You don’t even need to LEAVE THE HOUSE! HEE HAW!
This sale is gonna be so awesome, I’m only going to announce it a week from Friday (tomorrow), in a big announcement right here on my blog!! Stay tuned to get all the details!
